Handmade wooden lampshades
Our handmade wooden lampshades are made from a very high quality real wood veneer which is bonded onto a strong paper backing to give superior strength, flexibility and durability. They are hand cut and glued to the painted steel frames. The seams are glued and reinforced with nylon fishing line stitching for a delightful decorative touch.
Shades are available from 7.5 cm to a whopping 70 cm diameter. They can be supplied either with or without a clear translucent diffuser. You can see the diffusers here. Our standard range includes ash, cherry, oak, and walnut. These all give very different lighting effects. See below for examples of each species.
Real wood veneers transmit a really lovely, soothing, natural light. They are the perfect antidote to many of the newer LED lamps commonly available these days.
