Ash Slab Table with Flared Cherry Legs
Ash slab table. The ash was sourced from the Sharpham Estate in 2017. This is one of the "sidings" - the first slab cut from a log. I've kept it for 6 years before finally cleaning it up and tenoning some chunky cherry legs on it.
This is a heavy piece! Through-wedged mortice and tenon joints. The travished top gives a wonderful texture, and catches the light beautifully.
A simple cherry "butterfly" let into the top to prevent the split from travelling further into the piece. A proper statement piece!Dimensions:
Width 110cm
Depth 56cm
Height 44cm
