Salix Rocking Chair - English Yew and Ash
The Salix Rocker is a beautifully handcrafted modern rocking chair, made from locally grown English Yew, and Ash. The yew came from Newton Ferrers churchyard after a storm had ripped a limb from the main trunk. The seat slab was from a tree which had fallen across a highway in my own village of Sparkwell. The legs and spindles have been split, shaved by hand, and thoroughly dried to ensure the highest quality and durability. The individual patterns of the grain and rich colour of the English Yew ensure that each chair is unique and a collectable piece of furniture that will last for generations.
